Getting started
Do I need an account to use Mekami?
No. You can browse the full games catalogue, read reviews, and view any public profile without signing in. An account is only needed when you want to log games, rate them, or follow other players.
How do I create an account?
Click "Join" in the top navigation bar and sign in with your Google account. Mekami uses Google Sign-In — no separate password is needed.
Is Mekami free?
Yes, Mekami is free to use.
Logging games
How do I log a game?
Open any game's detail page and click "Log this game". Choose a status (Want to play, Playing, or Played), add dates, a star rating, and an optional review. Hit "Save log" when you're done.
What does "Still playing" mean?
Check "Still playing" if you haven't finished the game yet. This disables the end date field and records the game as in progress. You can update your log at any time.
What's the difference between "Like" and a star rating?
"Liked it" is a quick positive tag — it adds the game to your Liked list and helps tune your For You recommendations. The star rating (1–5) is a more precise score that contributes to the community average shown on the game page.
Can I edit or delete a log?
Yes. Return to the game's detail page and click "Edit your log". To remove the log entirely, open the log dialog and click "Remove log" at the bottom.
Feed & recommendations
What appears in my Feed?
Your Feed shows activity from players you follow — games they've logged, recommended, or reviewed. Follow more players to get a richer feed.
How does the For You page work?
The For You page surfaces personalised game recommendations based on what you've liked, played, and rated. The more you log, the better the recommendations get.
How do I hide a recommendation I'm not interested in?
On the For You page, hover a game card and click the ✕ button to hide that recommendation.
Privacy & data
Is my profile public?
Yes. Your profile, liked games, and reviews are visible to anyone — no account needed to view them. Private lists are not yet supported.
How do I delete my account?
Email us at hello@mekami.com and we'll process the request within 30 days in line with UK GDPR.
What data do you store?
We store your Google account name, email address, and the game logs, ratings, and reviews you create. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
